Marine Conservation Postcards

ILLUSTRATION // End Client: Fair Seas //  Commissioner: Lands Design Studio // Sector: Non-profit, Environmental NGO, Advocacy

Project description:

Fair Seas is a coalition of Ireland’s leading environmental non-governmental organisations (eNGOs) and environmental networks. Fair Seas aim to “see Ireland, with a renewed appreciation of the ocean, become a world leader in marine protection, giving our species, habitats and coastal communities the opportunity to thrive.”

Graphic Designer Brian of Lands Studio commissioned these illustrations for Fair Seas’ postcard campaigns. One, featuring a diving Gannet, Riso dolphins and the Skellig Michael island, was used to highlight and celebrate international recognition of Ireland’s SW Skellig Coastline as a Mission Blue Spot. About 27,000 pairs of gannets inhabit the small Skelligs, making the islands the world’s second-largest colony of these birds.

The second illustration features a feeding Basking Shark to showcase the biodiversity of Ireland’s Northwest Coast.
